My name is Sylvain, but because of how deadly I am on a bike, my (English !) friends like to call me “The BULLET”. I was born in 1976 in the suburb of
, in a quiet place called Verneuil L’Etang near Melun (famous for the Brie cheese). I practice cycling, mainly with my club, the CSM13 (CSM stands for “Cyclo Super Motives” which means “very motivated cyclists” from the 13th district of Paris). We ride from Paris every Sunday mostly on organised rallies. I try also to attend a few cyclosportives / races every year. Paris
I’ve always cycled in my life, but mostly when I had time and it was mainly for fun. One day, in 2004, I’ve decided to join the club to practice more seriously. I bought a bike, the beginnings were difficult and laborious but I could fell the advantages of exercising (and in the same time, I also lost a few kg).
In 2008, I've invested in a more efficient bike and my objective is now to participate in a few more cyclosportives (La marmotte, La 77, L’etape du tour / the stage of the tour...) or some other major cycling events (Lyon-Mont Blanc-Lyon, Bordeaux-Paris, Paris-Brest-Paris...), where it is possible to combine pleasure and a good atmosphere. I also try to improve my capabilities, but my schedule doesn’t allow me to spend more time on the training, so I try to do my best on these races or events, nothing else.
For the club, we have to write our stories about each ride, and they are then published on the website. But more people (especially outside the club) were asking me to send the reports, and I wanted a place where to store and archive them as well. The idea of the blog was born and as I work in
and my English friends and colleagues are also curious to read about them, I’ve started to translate them. I think it can also be useful to help them to discover cycling in London France …And maybe the opposite as I would like to ride cyclosportives / races in other countries, and there’s a lot in ! UK
I also use the blog as a tool of live news as all my tweets are published in live on the main page!
